Description

Note: After registering and paying for this class, you will receive an email with a link to the meeting registration.

In 2019 the DOL announced both a new salary threshold for exempt employees and they updated requirements for calculating regular rate of pay for purposes of calculating overtime. These new rules have been in effect since January 1, 2020. Your business should review your current wages for salaried exempt employees as well as review all of your positions to ensure that they are properly classified. Employers who do not properly classify their employees risk paying treble damages for back wages for improperly classified employees.

This course will cover the legal definitions related to FLSA classifications of employees, testing requirements and salary thresholds for exempt employees and requirements for independent contractor classifications. Mitigate your risks and learn what is involved to keep your company compliant with these new DOL requirements.
